Back to KC (again)

Well the weekend is upon me, and once again I'm going home to KC. This time, though, more selfish reasons...a concert. I'm taking my baby sister to see 1964: A Tribute (great Beatles cover band) over at the Uptown. The last time I saw them I regretted not taking her (instead of who I ended up taking). Anyway, I'm not looking forward to the long drive...however I think it will do me some good.

Have fun! I saw them when I was 13 or so. They were awesome. George was always my favorite.
Totally off topic: I have to create a lesson plan and teach it to my Thursday night class. I'm thinking of teaching about a poem. Can you think of anything we learned in Mayhan's class (or even Sylvia's for that matter) that would be good for a 15 minute lesson?

Uh...let me think...well I think you should pick a poem that is:

A). Short enough that you can read it all

and

B). One you understand completely

I'm really bad with poetry, but I'm sure you have a favorite poem. Maybe something by Poe???
Sorry I am no help.

I was flipping through all my old notes from Mayhan's classes. I'm hoping to find one that I can teach half as well as he does! (Not likely, but I'm tryin'!) How was the concert?

Well just remember that before he was our teacher, Mayhan was just like you--everyone who ever got good at anything started off a novice.

But yeah, if I was you, I'd look at my old class notes from his classes.
