Ghostbusters 3???

This is crazy. I got all excited about this time last year when there was a rumor that they were making a Ghostbusters video game...my little boy heart was shattered when I found out it was all fake.

Then today I'm reading Ain't It Cool News and they have a story about...wait for it...Ghostbusters 3!!! Now, as a HUGE fan of the first two movies (they were probably my favorite growing up) I was a little scared. None of those guys have aged well. None of them. Plus, the recent "hey let's make sequels to movies that came out decades ago" is kinda getting old (none of them have been good).

BUT! This is different. They aren't making Ghostbusters 3 as a film...but as a video game. AICN cites an article in Variety Magazine that says everyone from the cast is going to lend their voices and likenesses to the game and...wait for it...Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis are going to write the game's story/script. The game is going to be set in the 1990's after the events of part 2.

Awesome!

Still not convinced that this could be/will be fantastic? Look at this screenshot:

I just soiled myself.

Yes, but have you played the original ghostbusters game?

Hey! How have you been?

I remember playing the NES Ghostbusters when I was a kid (it was a rental, I never bought it). I might have rented the second one...but I don't remember for sure.

Overall, they were pretty crappy. These movie-tie-in games all suck (for the most part, except for the legendary GOLDENEYE), but sometimes my inner geek gets the better of me.
